Drawing Ray Diagram to produce a real image for a convex lens
The object can be placed between F and 2F, at 2F or beyond 2F. The position you choose will affect the size of the image formed.
In the diagram below, the object has been placed between F and 2F.
Draw a line from the object, diagonally downwards through the lens as shown below.
Draw a horizontal line from the object to the lens. Then continue this line through the point labelled F on the right hand side
Draw a line from the object, through F on the left hand side to the lens. Then extend this line horizontally to the right as shown below.
Now draw your image line in. This arrow will go from the horizontal line on the right hand side of the lens, down to where the red lines meet a shown in the diagram below.
There are no practice questions here, but you should definetly practice drawing this.
