Answers to AQA GCSE Absorption and Emission of Electromagnetic Radiation
Practice Questions
1.When sodium chloride is placed into the blue roaring flame of a bunsen burner state what you would observe
Flame colour, or coloured light emitted.
Also accept yellow light emitted
2. Explain the difference between absorption and emission of EM radiation
Absorption is the taking in or EM radiation
Emission is the releasing or emitting or EM Radiation
3. Describe the changes that occurs when an electron is supplied with EM radiation, then later releases that EM radiation in terms of energy levels.
Electron absorbs EM Radiation and it moves from lower energy level to higher energy level. This higher energy electron can then emit EM radiation and move from a higher energy level to a lower energy level.
